Orlando Golf Courses

There are lots (and lots!) of golf courses you can play in Orlando. I have listed a small number of them below and would recommend you go to their web sites for further information.

Champions Gate - One of the nearest to our villa is the Greg Norman designed Champions Gate golf course which is 4 minutes drive from the villa and on Juction 58 of the I4. Full details and booking of tee times can be done via their web site. (407)-787-4653 or toll free on 1-888-558-9301

Remington Golf Club - This course is located some 2 miles off Boggy Creek road to the South east of Olando and only 10 minutes from the airport. (407) 344-4004

Walt Disney World Resort - With its 99 holes and location in the heart of the tourist district. Those looking for golf outside of the high-profile venues will want to consider these courses as they are good value for money with rates from $40 to $60. Watch out for the music with this site.

Mystic Dunes Golf Club - Opened in the summer of 2001, Mystic Dunes is located virtually across the street from Disney World's south entrance and close to Celebration some 10 minutes from the villa. Green fees are as low as $48 in the summer but can climb into the $100's in peak season. (866) 311-1234.

North Shore Golf Club - This club is the closest golf course to Orlando International Airport and is roughly six miles to its southeast. It's a Mike Dasher-designed layout with the green fees ranging from the $40 to $70. (407) 277 9277.

Orange County National -This is a 36-hole complex and can be quickly accessed by taking county roads 535 or 545 in the back way. David Harman designed the Panther Lake and Crooked Cat courses and rate ranges from $50 to $100 per round. They do package deals and special promotions. (407) 656-2626.

Highlands Reserve - The open and hilly course is located approximately 10 miles southwest of Disney World off Highway 27 in a quiet development.Rates range from $37 to $65. (877) 508-4653.

Southern Dunes -This course is located in Haines City which is one junction south of exit 58 on the I4 and only 20 minutes form the vills. The rates range from $50 to $100. It is a Steve Smyers design. (863) 421-4653.

MetroWest - Until the golf course explosion began in the mid-1990's MetroWest was considered by most to be the finest public access course in Orlando. It's a Robert Trent Jones design and rates are in the $60 to $110 bracket (call for specials). The course is located just a matter of miles away from Universal. (407) 299-1099.

Hawk's Landing - Hawk's Landing is probably the most centrally located golf course in the "tourist" part of town. Originally designed by Joe Lee, architect Bob Cupp gave the course a well-deserved face-lift several years ago. It's rates range from $85 to $135 and it's as convenient as it gets in Orlando. Diamond Players Club of Clermont - This course is located roughly 40 minutes west of Orlando. Terry LaGree certainly didn't hold back in taking advantage of the exuberant if stark terrain. Rates range from $50 to $90 with specials available. (352) 243-1729.

The Legends at Orange Lake - The Legends Course, from Arnold Palmer Course Design, is one of two regulation tracks at Orange Lake Resort, a timeshare community adjacent to Disney World on the south side. It's rates can run into the mid-$100's. (407) 239-1050.
